Belly has gotten considerably bigger in a matter of 2 days

21M | 5'7 | SW - 85 kg (187 lbs) | CW - 83 Kg (183 lbs) | GW - 70 kg (154 lbs)

Hi, everyone. I want to start off by saying that this sub has been such a great help to me. I started my journey just a month ago after discovering r/loseit through a random google search and I've learnt so much in the last 30 days. I never felt the need to post/ask anything because all of my questions were pretty much already answered. Now, 30 days in, I do have some questions and observations.

After eating anywhere between 1600 - 1750 calories a day, I have lost around 2 - 2.5 kgs and it already feels great. My clothes fit me better, everything feels less jiggly/floppy when I go on a run and my overall mental health has improved drastically.

But, since the last 2-3 days I have not been feeling great. 2 days ago, I noticed that my t-shirts were fitting me a bit snug. My protruding belly was visible and I was looking puffy. I brushed it aside because it could've just been some gas/bloating.

But, my belly just keeps getting bigger. Today It looks similar to how it looked a month ago.

There are only 2 changes that I've made in the last 5 days :

  1. Upped my step goal from 7k to 10k
  2. Started doing some weight lifting with a pair of 3kg dumbbells. (Impressive, I know)

I would say my weight has also increased but I'm not sure because it fluctuates so much. Maybe the best course of action is to just wait it out and focus on the longer trend but I felt like I should put this out here in the hopes of finding someone who went through the same thing.
