When does exercise become fun / enjoyable?

So like most people, I've put on lockdown weight, I've been trying to watch what I eat but have been steadily putting on weight for 2-3 years and I'm the heaviest I've been.

I've joined the gym and after putting it off for a week or two, I've been going every other day for the past 10 days - I've been using a few weights but mainly use cardio. I'm super unhealthy but want to get the feeling of loving exercising everyone keeps talking about, when does it get easier and enjoyable? Right now I tend to push and rush through it just to get it over with and then dread going back. Any tips on making it more fun or any weight burning machines you'd recommend?
