I'm a 220 pounds, 6'1 male, and I'm trying to lose 30 pounds. I've had no success at all though, since I feel like I'm starving out of my mind. I work 10 hours daily from home during the weekdays, and not eating isn't really an option during those hours since I can't focus when I'm hungry. If I don't eat, I just sit there unfocused and get nothing done. I will be absolutely starving every 90 minutes or so, and sometimes I'll eat two of the listed meals right after each other. I'll usually have eaten my first 5 meals around 8 hours into my day - clocking in at over 2500 calories. Once my work day is over, I am starving for a sixth meal despite still having 6 hours of my day left before bedtime.
I feel like my diet is already pretty strict, and honestly it's a mental battle for me to eat these meals every day, because the majority of them are so unsatisfying to me. I also don't "eat until I'm full", i literally never am full. My meals only make the feeling of hunger go away. I'
Snacks: Banana + reduced fat popcorn (250 calories)
Meal 1: Oatmeal, 2 eggs, 100g of cherry tomatoes (525 calories)
Meal 2: Whole wheat bread, smoked fish, shrimp, 100g cucumber, 25g of reduced fat mayo (550 calories)
Meal 3: Low fat greek yoghurt, 200 grams of mixed fruit, 20g of nuts (400 calories)
Meal 4: Ricotta and spinach tortellini in broth, chicken breast, 100g of baby carrots on side (600 calories, meal prepped)
Meal 5: Mashed potatoes, chicken breast, mushrooms, mixed vegetables (550 calories, meal prepped)
Meal 6: Usually end up buying something after I'm done working, typically ends up being 500-700 calories (typically a wrap, burrito bowl or sushi. I order my stuff without the sour cream/mayo dips and such though)
I use 0 cooking oil for any of my food, eggs are done on a good nonstick pan, all the veggies are raw/steamed and all the meat is poached. I also drink a large glass of water before every meal, since I've read that recommendation a million times. I do drink soda, but they are all zero calorie beverages. My mealprepped meals change from week to week so I don't go insane. The first three meals are pretty much always the same though.
Despite eating all this stuff, I go to bed feeling hungry, and craving a seventh meal 3-4 hours before bedtime. The last hours before bed is therefore spent trying to distract myself with movies and series, so I can wake up and eat again to get rid of the hunger.
This means my daily intake is usually somewhere between 3200-3500 calories. I then burn around 650 of those away by walking 12.000 steps every day. This still puts me slightly above maintenance, since I'm supposed to eat 2000 calories for a 500 calorie deficit. Basically, I'm not even close to eating at the deficit I should, despite still being hungry.
What do I do at this point?
