I think everyone has something that works for them, be it carbs, exercise, non-dairy. Something seems to be the triggering factor in our weight loss. Mine has finally been tapping into my very mild obsessive-compulsive disorder and counting every calorie. I stay under 1800 calories a day and, on non-diet days (it's not called a cheat day since OCD me makes the rules) I'm repulsed by ice cream and the heavy stuff I used to love. Last Sunday I had hummus and whole wheat chips. I've a 2/3's full container of dark chocolate covered raisons for this Sunday, left overs. At 5' 10", I've gone from 223 to 203 in six months, walking, doing 6 lb. weights and writing down EVERY STINKING CALORIE. The hunger goes away when an OCD person knows the numbers. I hope this helps some. Cheers!
