Calorie Question

So I'm a big dude.

I'm 6'4" 330. According to estimates, my BMR is anywhere between 2800+3000. My TDEE is 4000-4300.

I have maybe eating around 2000-2500 calories a day. Skipping breakfast, big lunch, small dinner. I've been tired and sluggish. My weight has fluctuated 5-8lbs but for the most part, staying the same. I drink a gallon to a gallon and a half of water a day.

I've built a home gym because of covid and have been lifting weights mon-friday and mix in boxing and treadmill for cardio.

I'm now starting to track what I eat better. My question is, do I actually need to eat 3500 calories (TDEE - 500) a day? Upping my caloric intake goes against my instincts. I've heard the yes and nos of "starvation mode mythos" as well and I'm just confused at this point.

I want to change up my diet. Add breakfast and snacks throughout the day, hoping to get my metabolism right. I am actively trying to lose weight. My goal is to get down to 280. It's just crazy to me that the possibility of achieving this is eating more.

Thanks for hearing me out and for any help on my journey.
