Active Energy Apple

Hi. I’m Stacie and new to strength training and I’m calorie counting. I depend on my Apple Watch for calories burned. When my app (using Nutracheck at the moment), it shows my exercise as my workout plus “active energy” through the day as dictated by Apple’s measurements. I just don’t really know what active energy means and whether I should pay attention to it in calculating net calories for the day. Note: I can tell my counter app to exclude active energy and only include calories burned in workout. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!!

Not especially looking into advice to stop calorie counting, just in determining growth, I want to know how active energy works.
