A minor win in a ring

This weekend I decided, after a few failed attempts, to take on the challenge in a professional way. I texted some friends to help me trough difficult times, weight myself, set up a meal plan and installed an app for counting the calories and charged my fitbit.

While making pictures for the before photos I was quite shocked. I bought some dresses a few years ago and lost them out of sight and I thought they'd still look good on me, but I could barely fit into into anymore. In my " failed " attempts last year I did lose 6 kilos in 12 months , but I dont see much result in the mirror.

I felt very ugly and even put a coat on while hiking at 20 degrees Celsius to cover how i look. Tried to take a cute selfie but all I could focus on was my chin. Then I found a ring in my jewelry box this morning. I made it 2 years ago, at my heaviest, with friends. I remember I didn't wear it because it was so tight around my finger. I put it on casually and it does fit now!! It isn't to tight, but also not sliding of my finger.

So although all I could see was setbacks this weekend, I did make some progress. I just needed to see it in some other way. Maybe it isn't visible at every moment and it certainly doesn't feel that way, the way you measure your progress has an enormous impact on how you feel and how motivated you are. Gonna enjoy my next salad now and feel amazing and powerful.
