Weight Loss for Everyone: I have a sugar addiction

I have a sugar addiction

I’ve never had enough problems with eating to have an actual eating disorder. But, recently, my weight has slowly increased and will continue to do so if I don’t make some changes, namely listening to my body when I eat. I grew up having limited amounts of sweets or ice cream because I have a somewhat large family, so I think that’s partly where my eating issues come in, along with emotional eating. I’ve been maintaining for a couple months now, and recently started losing (as in ~3lbs). But, whenever certain foods enter my house, as they inevitably will as I am not the only one choosing the foods, I lose control. Not to a terrible extent, but enough to ruin my hard work of cooking and being active of a few days. I know enjoying things is necessary, so I try to include times to enjoy the things that are in the category of sugary and not nutrient dense a couple times a week— but I still overeat and turn my brain off once in a while. (I also enjoy plenty of nutrient dense foods as well, and make sure I enjoy all my “healthy” foods!) Is there anyone out there who has figured out how to lose that empty brain sensation as you stuff yourself? It just really sucks to lose the headway I was making.
