Title explains the gist of it. I take an antidepressant called mirtazapine that also functions like a sleep aid, and I get really great sleep. It's also helped my depression significantly. But it's a known appetite stimulant and I obviously have to take it before bed.
Stats are 5'2", SW: 160lbs, CW: 125lbs, GW: 115lbs. I've been able to successfully lose 35lbs through CICO, IF, and a moderate cardio and strength training routine. I feel pretty good, but I'd love to drop another 10lbs. But I can't stop eating at night after I go to bed!! I wake up in the night and will eat, typically sweet things but really whatever is available. I've always done this but it never mattered until now that I'm a lot smaller. My TDEE is around 1800, and I'm trying to eat 1300-1400. Those 300 or so calories I'm consuming in the middle of the night while half asleep are slowing my progress to the point it's barely noticeable, if at all.
I'm always awake in the sense I know I'm eating at that moment, but not awake enough to remember I'm on a diet and stop myself. Sometimes I'll even fall back asleep with the food in my hands still.
I've thought about a fridge alarm but I think it would scare me and stress me out to the point I eat something to calm down. Duct tape the fridge? Locks?
Any ideas?
