I’ve noticed that a lot of posts lately relate to struggling with and overcoming emotional and compulsive eating. I also struggle with this and sometimes don’t have someone to talk to/express the feeling/urge/etc too. I’m wondering if there would be any interest in forming a support/accountability group? Not sure what the best way to do it would be so I’m also looking for suggestions.
I sort of imagine it working like a group chat where you can message when you’re having the impulse to eat and just give space to identify and say to others what feelings or situations are driving it. Ideally someone will respond with affirmations or maybe sometimes you actually do need to eat and can affirm that too. I find it so helpful when I can talk through it with someone or even just write it down but worry about it triggering or annoying my friends/family with frequency.
Does this exist already? If not should we start one?
