Effect of medication on appetite

Hey! I genuinely dont even know who to talk to about this irl so I’m here to seek some comfort from you guys.

I am diagnosed with Bipolar l, borderline, major depressive and ptsd. I take medication for those so life is pretty chill in that aspect. My focus in school/work - which already is pathetic - has been deteriorating and I assumed it was because of the meds. I had a phone call with my psychiatrist the other day where I tried to explain that my medication is helping but I wasn’t exactly getting anything done and he was..tbh just not professional lol. So this girl decided to wean off meds. Thats when the shitshow started

Before you come for me, I KNOW what I did was a terrible mistake - trust me I’ve suffered the consequences. But BOY did I remember why I gained all that weight!! I couldn’t stop eating! Everything and anything! My bad childhood habits of eating non edible stuff like sand, hair etc hit me so hard lol. Thankfully, I felt exhausted enough to spend most of my time sleeping so nothing dramatic happened. But my appetite was not a joke. It was almost too painful to sit around and not eat. Not to be graphic but imagine what happens when u eat too much only to have it all come out so u can unwillingly start again. It was mortifying, dangerous and frightening.

Now I’m back in the safe zone I’m able to think a little better about the correlation btn meds and attention + other eating issues. What are your experiences with medication and weight loss?

For whoever is curious F/26/172.5 sw 109 cw 79 gw 60 and I’ve gained and lost 3 kg from this fiasco.
