You know you lost some weight when people try to tell you how to lose weight...

This is going to be a rant that I just need to get off my chest.

I picked up a shift at a restaurant I haven't worked at in maybe 2 months. I had lost a total of 20 lbs at this point, so everyone was cheering me on, which felt awesome! I'm honestly so proud of myself because people around me don't usually notice the gradual change (including myself).

Of course, the number 1 question that everyone asked was how I did it. I told them it's a combination of working out and CICO, and let them know that I started off just working out but wasn't losing any weight until I started counting calories. They just wouldn't really believe it. They kept asking what food I'm avoiding and stuff like that...

Until this 1 lady who I've only met twice told me that I should eat less carbs....as if what I'm doing hasn't been working or something? Like, hellooooo obviously why do you think that it's ok to say that. I tried to brush it off and said that I can't do that, I love potatoes, noodles and rice too much. She than stopped me at 'rice' and said that rice is fine. When I said that rice is all carbs she told me that rice is still ok to eat. Like WHAT.

I get that some diets work for some peole, but I'm honestly looking for a lifestyle change and CICO has been helping a lot for me. I'm actually learning to stop myself from stuffing my face with anything I see in sight. While I'm happy that everyone noticed my efforts, I wish that she hadn't said that and made me feel like I could be doing something better and lose more weight faster, which is the mindset that I'm trying to move away from. But oh well. It is what it is sometimes.
