Losing Weight for the Wedding

My fiancé and I have been wanting to get in shape for a while now. We are getting married in August 2020 and want to look our best on our wedding day. Beyond that, we want to live a healthier lifestyle and teach our future children good habits. I am 23 years old, 136 lbs and 5'6". My fiancé is 24, 280 lbs and 6'1". We are full-time students and live a sedentary lifestyle, eating mostly fast-food.

I want to make a lifestyle change to include exercise and cooking healthy meals at home rather than eating out. I am not worried about losing weight, but I am interested in losing fat and gaining muscle.

My fiancé would like to lose 100 lbs eventually, but his goal is to lose at least 50 lbs by the wedding.

Right now our plan is to eat a very low-carb diet and avoid eating out. Soon, I hope we can motivate ourselves to get in the gym! I decided to post on reddit because we are notorious for cheating on our diet then giving up all together. I'm hoping this community can keep us motivated and hold us accountable. Any tips are welcome and appreciated!
