I hope this is the right place for this post
I’m female, 18 years old, have a naturally slim build, I’m 5’4, and about 115 lbs. For about two years now I’ve had what I call a “B shaped” stomach. When I look in the mirror and flex my ab muscles, my stomach looks like an upper-case B. There’s some fat in the area above my stomach, then a horizontal indent across my whole stomach where by belly button is, then even more fat below my belly button. It’s like that when I stop flexing as well, just more... fat?
I read somewhere that the B shape is due to the tight waistbands of pants, which makes sense. But two years ago I was very fit (cheerleading and lacrosse at the same time) and I remember still having that B shape.
I eat pretty healthy - junk/fast food disgusts me, the only beverage I drink is water, I eat well rounded meals, but I am guilty of snacking a lot. I just started my first year of college and I’ve never walked more in my life. When I came home to visit just 3 weeks into the school year, my family said that my legs had gotten super skinny, which I absolutely hate. But why haven’t I lost weight in my stomach?
Could it be genetics? Would a waist trainer help? Do I need to start doing certain ab exercises? (no matter how much I worked out my abs I still remember having the B shape) I’ve become so so unhappy with my stomach and I feel like I’m on the verge of an eating disorder and I need to know if anyone else has had this problem and how they fixed it
