The request for dinner tonight was nachos. I love nachos. In the past, before I became aware of what I put into my body I would make a healing plate. Probably after eating an unknown lunch earlier in the day.
I decided to make my plate as I would have before - except tonight I weighed each individual item on my scale. I think you all know where this is going, as a thoughtful serving of tortilla chips is hilariously small.
500 calories for chips 360 for the meat Only 80 for the nacho cheese that was surprising 115 calories for the shredded cheese on top and an extra 30 for sour cream. There’s also jalapeƱos and tomatoes.
1082 calories! Right now I aim to eat between 1300-1700 calories per DAY. Sometimes I’m Much lower sometimes I’m at maintenance. I haven’t eaten yet today so this isn’t really going to affect my day.
But it’s surprising to see everything together like that. And how with dinner I would’ve had a beer or two. Maybe some cookies or ice cream for a snack. All untracked. Through logging and weighing my food and quitting drinking I’ve lost 35 lbs since February. It’s no wonder I wasn’t losing weight before even though I didn’t think I was eating that much. What a joke.
