Feels like it took damn-ass freakin’ forever to hit the 170 lb checkpoint (I call them checkpoints because it’s fun). Long-lasting plateaus are something that I’ve grown used to though. They used to drive me crazy - the type of crazy that’d tempt me to throw in the towel on the whole process. However, something I’ve learned throughout the 765 days I’ve been doing this thing is that I need to be patient with myself. Patience is the only way this was ever going to work long-term, so I do my best to practice it at every turn.
What am I doing?
I’m eating between 2200-2400 calories a day. High protein, low fat, and I’m not afraid of carbs. I recommend looking into Greg Doucette on YouTube to get familiar with that kind of mindset. Lots of water, lots of black coffee. I get an average of 14k-15k steps a day, which includes walking back and forth from classes and jogging/running a couple of miles in the evening. I lift weights three days out of the week - basic exercises with dumbbells but I’m effing consistent as fuck.
Just thought I’d go ahead and check in again. I try to make it a point to celebrate my progress when I can. Need to pat myself on the back for these checkpoints - they are the building blocks that construct the journey’s entirety after all.
