So I set up MyFitnessPal to access my steps data on my phone, and based on the steps it calculates how many calories I've burned walking throughout the day. However, this figure usually seems low to me. I'm 5'3" 125 lb 22F woman and for example, yesterday I walked 2.6 miles (4.2 km) and MFP shows that's 65 calories burned. That's a rate of 25 calories burned per mile. Search results on the Internet says I should be losing 65 calories per mile. Is the MFP calculation accurate? Also, I have been tracking my weight, walking distance, and calories eaten on a spreadsheet, and my actual weight changes seem to suggest that the MFP calculation is incorrect as well. What is the actual rate of calories burned walking? Thanks!
