Can eating the same amount of calories but having a healthier diet help me lose weight?

So I’m an athlete, swimmer specifically. I workout in the gym and do cardio in the pool My current diet is bad apparently. I severely under-eat fruits and vegetables. They probably make up less than a fourth of the plate. I also eat lots of processed foods which I didn’t know were super unhealthy.

I was a bit chubby before and I went into a calorie deficit. I lost weight, especially in my abdomen, however the fat in my arms and legs are still stuck there.

So I’ve researched and I found out about the plating technique that helps you proportion your macros and I intend to follow it. Will this help me lose the fat in my arms and legs?
