A weekend away ... realization

My husband and I had a weekend away from home and our kids for a wedding. I am dairy and gluten free at home and doing OrangeTheory 4-6 times a week. I started at 232lbs in April and am down to 205lbs now. My goal weight is 180lbs.

I usually drink about 100-130 ounces of water a day... steer clear of carbs and sodium... and workout daily.

We flew for the wedding and I prepped by body by drinking about 40oz of water on the plane. The dinner reservation we had wasn’t the food I thought it was going to be, but I went with the flow bc we were meeting friends. Then the following day the brunch place a cousin chose didn’t offer many options for me, but I made do. I tried drinking as much water as possible... at the wedding I drank water in between cocktails and actually didn’t eat that much food or off plan items.

BUT what you don’t think about is the SODIUM that restaurants use!!!! I never cook with salt and the items I order in restaurants are raw or flash cooked, so they don’t use sodium either. I woke up this morning SOOOOOO puffy. I immediately starting chugging water before getting back on a plane to come home. I drank about 60oz of water before landing. My rings were tight. My pants were tight in the waist. I was convinced I had gained 5-10 lbs this weekend.

Thankfully my scale showed otherwise and I hadn’t gained... but i also haven’t gone to the bathroom in 3 days. I have conditioned my body to eat a certain way and it’s rebelling. It’s swollen. It won’t go to the bathroom. I’m drinking water as I lay in bed.

It’s remarkable how our bodies can tell us what they want. They don’t want junk food. They don’t want sodium. Listen to your body!!!!!!

Here’s to my home (clean) cooking tomorrow again... and my 130 ounces of water and OrangeTheory!!!!! It’s good to be home!
