I’m totally an emotional eater – not just for stress eating, but for celebrations too. Tonight I got great grades back on a tough assignment, and was so happy that my first thought was “I want ice cream!” There’s nothing wrong with that per se, but I “caught” that thought and recognized it as an engrained emotional response to validate with food. Decided to go for a “victory run” instead. (WHO EVEN AM I?! Going for a RUN to celebrate?!) It’s non-scale victories like this that make me feel I’m actually making a real change. Sorry if this comes across as bragging – I’m just really proud of the person I’m choosing to become. 😭❤️
