New to running, looking to loose weight.

I've recently gotten back into running after a rough year in quarantine, gaining about 20lbs. Right now I am trying to run at least 3 times a week for a minimum of 1 mile. Wearing the Nike Free TR8 /HIIT/Cross Training Shoe. When I began about two weeks ago, I ran a 15min mile, and now 6 runs later, my new best time is a 12:30 mile. My max distance is 2 miles, which leaves me winded. I usually need to take about 1-2 30 second breaks during the run as well.

I'd like to add in some light weight training (5lb free weights) to compliment the running and am looking for suggestions. My aim is to improve my time, distance, and loose weight. Thank you!
