Example: lost 40 pounds and now I am binge eating and can't stop ..
The reason is because when you first started your diet you set a calorie limit, for example 1500 calories per day, .. but what you didn't know is that those 40 extra pounds of fat were giving your body 31.5 calories per pound each day IN ADDITION to what you were eating to fuel your body. So if you were eating 1500 calories, and you were getting 1260 extra calories from your fat reserves (40 x 31.5 = 1260), then your body was operating on 2670 calories per day. The problem is ... now you've lost that 40 pounds of fat, and that 1260 extra calories are GONE, and now the only thing your body has as fuel is whatever you are putting in your mouth. So you THINK you are eating the same amount of calories, and you are, but your body is saying "WAIT, WTF IS GOING ON ? WHERE'S THE EXTRA 1260 I HAD TO OPERATE WITH EVERY DAY ?".
Then your body rebels and drives you insane.
How to fix ? You have to eat more, because the more fat you lose, the worse it's going to get if you don't eat more. You can't keep eating the low amount of calories you were eating when you started your diet.
