Hi there. I've lived most of my childhood as an overweight child and a bit through teenage-hood. Around 13 years old, I would be around 80kg+. All I could remember was through exercise and diets, i managed to go down to around 70kg, and I reached 16 years old where I was around 67kg, lowest being 65kg. (Mind you, I'm only around 165cm tall, so for my BMI I'm on the edge of normal and slightly overweight, which means I still have more to go.)
However, I tried everything to lose more weight but nothing changed. I was around 67kg the whole time, and sometimes I would almost reach 70kg again and it was pretty frustrating knowing that I'm eating very little and exercising almost everyday for about 1-2 hours, yet there was no progress at all!
Then I had my exams which I put dieting and exercise aside for 2 months, and by the end I ended up around 70~72kg. This was November 2020.
It's now April 2021 and I'm 17 years old, and it's been like 5 months of tracking calories, eating around only 1500 cals a day, and working out like 4-5 times a week, doing everything from cardio, HIIT, weight lifting... and the most results I would see is dropping 1 kg after a workout (69kg). Hours later, I'd go back to 70kg... and looking at my body, nothing has really changed, I didn't seem to gain muscle because I look exactly the same. And everyday it's the same thing over and over again. It's really demotivating and I feel horrible because it seems like I'm doing so much and yet nothing's changing.
Is this a possibility that my body is just not made to be skinnier? My ultimate goal at this point is 60kg and it seems pretty much impossible at this rate. Is it my genes? Or perhaps is my body ruined by dieting and my metabolism has crashed? I would want to see a doctor, but I'm not sure how to. Please, if you could help me in any sort, it would mean the world to me. :(
