Weight Loss for Everyone: I’m tired of hearing people’s comments.

Wednesday, April 21, 2021

I’m tired of hearing people’s comments.

Kind of just a vent, and wondering if anyone else has this issue. Sorry if it’s long, and if it’s not aloud. I’m down 47lbs. Started at 229lbs, currently 182lbs. When I first started losing weight everyone was so congratulatory, excited and full of compliments, recently though, when the subject of my diet and workouts, I get asked what my goal is, to which I respond “I’ve haven’t seen my abs since I was 9, so that would be cool” and I mention that I think To see them I’d probably have to hit somewhere in the 160’s. I tend to retain most of my fat in my gut. The reactions I get are crazy. From family to friends to clients at work if it comes up. Things like, “you’ll be to skinny, you’ll disappear, you can’t be unhealthy, you’ll be so weak, you’re taking it too far...” no matter what I say or how I justify it, everyone tells me that I’m obsessing too much. I’m 5’9” and this is the first time I’ve lifted wieghts consistently since high school. I go to the gym 6 days a week, I’m currently eating 1650 calories a day and plan on bumping up to maintenance for a month just to give my body some time to relax, then cut again. I’m just finding it super discouraging hearing that I’m getting ridiculous constantly, and that I should just do more crunches...(I already do plenty of abs). Anyone else have this problem?
