26F 5’7 SW: 230lbs I’m finally losing weight after giving up on the idea that I ever really could. But I don’t really know what to shoot for.
My family is supportive but very.. opinionated regarding how much weight I should lose. Going off of BMI the healthy range is 118-159. I wanted to shoot for around 130. They insist that I’d be way too skinny and would rather I stop around 150.
I know some people say “stop when you like how you look.” But, for the past few years I worked really hard to love myself as I am. I like how I look and I know it’s my personality keeping me from dating, not my appearance. I’ve just been in the same body for so long and I want a change. And getting in control of my habits and diet is a giant bonus.
So.. how did you guys decide on your goal weight? I don’t know how I want to look, other than different from how I currently look. I don’t have past milestones as a gauge. I really want a specific goal to shoot for.
