Hi everyone, like the title says, I want to know how to stop feeling guilty about throwing out sweets. I've got a major sweet tooth and unlike my partner who is content with eating 1-2 small cookies a day and that's it, I'm the exact opposite. If there's a box of chocolates or container of muffins around, I could easily finish it off in 1-2 days. As I've gotten older, I've been able to control my sweet tooth better, but with the holidays approaching, and all my family and work colleagues literally sending me nothing but sweets in the mail, I find myself either having my partner hide them on me or throwing them away.
I hate the idea of food waste, especially now during the pandemic, but I can't help it. I need it gone. If not, I'll eat it and gain weight back. Back in 2019, I was 145 lbs and I've managed to bring myself down to 125 lbs through exercise and watching my weight. I'm less active now, but I've managed to keep my weight constant during COVID and that's something I'm very proud of. I don't want my weight to increase anymore, and I'm finding it especially hard now during the holidays.
Any suggestions? How do you make yourself feel less guilty about throwing sweets out? I couldn't donate this food either since they're baked goods or they've already been opened.
