Body positivity / diet culture. Where’s the balance??

I’m so conflicted. I want to lose weight. I need to lose weight. I have always been overweight as long as I can remember. I have insecurities, but overall I am confident and comfortable in my body. It has gotten to a point where my weight is getting in the way of things I want to do, travel, sports, etc. I have gained some weight and it has impacted my fitness lately.

I’m so torn on it though. I feel like everyone is shoving body positivity down my throat. I am in a place where I am confident and I feel like it’s a betrayal to my self love to watch what I eat and try to lose some weight. How do I rationalize these things??
