I'm in week 4 of my calorie restricted diet. I'm averaging 1750 calories per day and have been for the last three weeks. ( I intentionally vary this up and down so some days I get more and others get less). Something strange has started to happen over the last week.
At first I noticed that my cravings were fading away. This was great and I feel more in control of that then I ever have. But over the last three days specifically I'm having trouble actually wanting to eat. I usually have two small meals and two snacks per day, almost always focused in the late afternoon to early evening for a bit of intermittent fasting. Three days ago I omitted one of those meals. Yesterday I omitted a meal and a snack and didn't feel like eating the stuff I did eat. Today, I didn't realize I hadn't eaten a thing until 5pm rolled around. I started doing some meal prep and when taking a break while waiting on something to cook, I forced myself to eat a small meal and drink some kombucha. But both of these items only add up to around 500 calories out of the 1720 I'm supposed to be having today and that has me worried.
I don't feel ill, no weird symptoms of anything. Everything else feels normal.
I read online that some people doing keto diets experience something like this. I'm not doing keto, but I have sharply decreased my carb intake. Could that be the reason why? They also say it goes away after a week or two. Should I just try to force myself to eat as much as I should be each day?
Can anyone with experience in this give me their opinions?
