So I started calorie counting a few months ago and dropped twelve pounds. Not a mind-blowing feat, but I've been eating much healthier, counting calories and running or walking every day.
I don't have huge problems with binging on snack foods like lots of people tend to do. Instead, every few weeks or so I binge on whatever I bake.
I love baking, and I mostly bake desserts. Cookies, breads, cupcakes, cakes, macarons, whatever. And every time, without fail, I end up eating way too much of it. I can't stop myself from baking because baking makes me feel happy and it's one of my favorite hobbies. But no matter how much I preplan my portion I end up going over my calorie limit, or I'll eat a large piece of cake in the afternoon and starve myself the rest of the day to make up for it. I've tried subbing in ingredients and making "healthier" versions but in all honesty it usually tastes like cardboard.
Does anyone else have this problem? And when I overeat on my baked goods, should I avoid eating the rest of the day to compensate it, or will that be worse for me in the long run?
