Hi, I’ve always had issues with food. Most of my life I was average weight, around 130, I’m 5’1 and I’ve played sports year round until I was 18. I did competing and recreational sports.I always thought I was fat, but I ate whatever I wanted and I played sports. I never wore a bikini or tight clothes because I though I was huge. At age 16 I developed an eating disorder and I began to starve myself and then binge. I lost weight rapidly, I barely ate and ran 8 miles a day. I was hospitalized for a month when I reached around 100lbs. I ran a half marathon during this time and I was in great shape, I was just unhealthy. In the hospital they told us not to look at our weight and not talk about numbers. They told me I was maintaining my weight there (because I was heavy compared to the other people there) but in reality they had me on a diet where I was gaining weight. When I got out of the hospital I weighed around 140 probably. I didn’t see my weight until I was 20. I accidentally saw my weight after an ER visit on my discharge papers and it was 170. I freaked out. I stayed that weight until covid when I gained 30lbs and now weigh around 205. I know that I am fat and I accept that now instead of denying it like before. I have a clear perception of how my body looks, unlike before when I always thought I was fat when I was thin as a rail. I wish I never tried to be skinny because all it did was lead me to actually being overweight. I have issues how with overeating. I used to starve myself for days and now I can’t stop eating. Any tips on how to stop overeating? I want to be healthy, I’d love to be 130lb again but honestly I’d take being 170lb or 150lb. I’ve been 100lb and I’ve been 200lb. Been model measurements and I’ve been called a whale. So now that I’ve experienced both I just want to be average and figure out how to have a healthy relationship with food. Any tips on that? Food is my main issue, I’m pretty active.
