I've always struggled with my weight. With a lot of effort, I've dropped weight in the past but my lack of focus always leads to the weight coming back. I eat without thinking, shovelling in food without thinking why.
When I was diagnosed with ADHD and medicated, I found it much easier to control what I was eating. Not only is my appetite suppressed by the drugs, I am in control of my choices.
I lost 7kg in 7 weeks. But then...nothing for two months.
I eat 2000 calories a day with plenty balanced macros (10-35% carbs, 40-50% protein, 30-40% fat). I go the gym three times a week and work hard when I'm there. I've built some muscle but lost no weight around my waist. My body fat is the same.
I'm stumped as to what is going on. The only thing I can think is that I need to do more aerobic exercise. I do 10,000 steps most days but no running, cycling etc.
Has anyone else had this problem?
(I'm pro-science and not interested in dangerous fad diets like paleo, keto etc.)
