I'd really appreciate any help or suggestions with this!
Basically, I've always been a little chubby but I was cool with that, I looked good overall - but just before lockdown I moved to a new place where it's a lot harder to bike around, and I've been driving a lot more. It also meant moving away from my friends, so it's not like I go dancing every other weekend, and I've been doing uni online, means I'm sitting at my desk for most of the day.
Overall, I've gone up two dress sizes in the past two months :( (I don't know exactly how much I weigh because I don't have a scale).
My issue is this: I've been trying to calorie count, but frankly I've been kind of depressed and food is kind of the highlight of my day right now. I'm stressed out for a variety of reasons, and missing my old home and my friends badly. I don't do the cooking in the household, my partner does, and his cooking leans very much towards rich Italian food. (He's not willing to change his cooking style, or make me seperate meals - he already has to make some elements different as I'm vegetarian.) We do eat a lot of vegetables and not a lot of fast food or anything like that. Apart from dinner, I generally just eat some yoghurt and muesli for breakfast, and snack on cheese and crackers, but it's a real struggle not to indulge myself in like, a pastry, or a third or fourth beer every night, or a bag of crisps, because everything feels so crappy at the moment and I'm stressed out.
Does anyone have any tips for how to avoid this kind of stress-y comfort eating?
