How to get past that first week?

I don't know if anyone else has struggled with this.

Sunday, I weigh myself. Throughout that week, I eat well and exercise and the scale goes down sometimes by as much as 4 pounds by thursday or friday. I KNOW that I can't lose 4 pounds of fat in a week (I'm F/41/5'1") and that the scale change is mostly water. At best it may be a pound of fat that I've lost. At best. But the number change on the scale stays with me so the weekend comes and I treat myself. I think that because I lost 4 pounds I can reward myself even though it's not really 4 pounds.

Sunday morning the scale is back up and I lose all motivation. The next week I may start fresh, or I may just eat too much. Usually I'll restart the following Sunday and then the cycle starts again.

Today it's Friday. I weighed 127 pounds on Sunday and 123 pounds today. I did CICO and exercised for 5 days in a row. I know the 4 pound loss is BS and at best it's a pound of fat that is gone. The rest is water. But I need to get past the weekend. If I can get past Friday night and Saturday I'll be able to continue the downward trend.

Anyone else struggle with this?

Anyone have some words of wisdom? Either in the form of hard science, tough love, positive and encouraging or like a drill sargent, - I'll take help in any form!
